Bird Observer is a New England-based bimonthly journal for birders. We are a private nonprofit corporation supported by subscribers, and staffed by volunteers. We publish original articles on birding locations, on avian populations and natural history, on regional rarities, and field notes, bird sightings for Massachusetts, photographs, and artwork. For information on previous issues, check our index.

Bird Observer maps
One of our most popular features is "Where to Find Birds," articles written by local birders and accompanied by detailed maps. You can download and print these maps from recent issues so you no longer need to flip from text and map in the issue.

Where to find birds on Cape Ann:

In the October and December 2010 issues of Bird Observer we published Chris Leahy's two-part article on winter birding on Cape Ann (see maps above). These articles have been so popular that we've combined them into one 28-page booklet which you can stash in your pack or glove compartment. They are available for $5.00 individually, or for $3.00 when combined with a new subscription: $24 for one year or $43 for two years.
Make checks payable to Bird Observer and mail with this form to (please indicate on the form that you are responding to the Cape Ann booklet offer):
