Wildlife rehabilitator Tom Ricardi will discuss the difficulties of breeding Bald Eagles in captivity, and the rewards of reintroducing them into the wild. Tom will have live birds of prey on display.

Be a part of a continent-wide project that has been documenting bird populations for over 100 years. New participants are needed and welcome. 6 Sun. Westover Grasslands - Chicopee, MA - 1/2 day
Visit the largest grassland bird area in New England. Species include Kestrel, Upland Sandpiper, Grasshopper Sparrow, Bobolink, and Meadowlark. Our guide will be Drew Milroy, the Natural and Cultural Resources Manager at the base. Registration is required with a driver's license or social security number two weeks in advance. Meet in the 99 Restaurant parking on Memorial Drive across from Mass. Turnpike Exit #5, Chicopee at 7:00 a.m. Bring water and snack. Limited to 25 people. Nesting Peregrines and Bald Eagles. Bring your kayak or canoe and meet at Medina St. Boat Ramp in Chicopee at 6:00 p.m. Float down river, then be towed back to starting point. A pontoon boat will be there for those who do not have a boat (reserve in advance, limit 6 people).
